Music lovers all over the world travel to festivals to watch their favorite artists perform, party with their friends, and wear outlandish outfits. The success of these events revolves around delivering an experience. Immersive technology can add to this experience by bringing a new and innovative perspective to the music industry.
Afterlife: Created by Tale of Us
Spreading throughout social media like wildfire, you may have encountered Afterlife, a techno record label with captivating visuals. Italian producers Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri, also referred to as Tale of Us, founded Afterlife in 2016. The label originated in Germany and gained global prominence in music genres such as Techno and Deep House. You can find these raves in cities like Los Angeles, Ibiza, Dubai, Tulum, London, and New York.

What is Anyma?
Anyma, the alias of artist Milleri in Tale of Us, is the mastermind behind the mixed-media project. Anyma combines music, technology, and graphics in performances. The art and music elicit deep emotions from listeners through exploring the themes of spirituality, interconnectedness, and human connection.
Milleri mentioned, “Anyma is a mixed media concept, where visuals and music combine to create a new form of creative output. We are leveraging the blockchain to empower it, bring it to the community, and to sustain it financially.”
Anyma in the NFT Space
Anyma collaborates with other artists to use NFTs in performances and art pieces. Attendees of an Anyma show can see the visual NFT. Collectors can purchase these digital assets and trade them, like physical art pieces. For example, Anyma and Alessio De Vecchi (SuperRare chief curator) created the NFT “Eternity,” which you can buy for over $60,000 at Sotheby’s. This NFT was showcased in the 2022 GENESYS London show. In 2023, the project also partnered with Grimes to release the song “Welcome To The Opera.”
As artificial intelligence, advanced graphics, and other technology intertwine with music, Afterlife and Anyma emerge as trailblazers. Their work showcases how combining art and technology can create a unique experience for the listener.
