Launching September 19, 2024, The North Face and COMME des GARÇONS (CDG) partner again to release an exclusive outdoor and streetwear collection. The brands collaborated for the first time last August.
In 1969, Rei Kawakubo founded the clothing brand COMME des GARÇONS, meaning “like the boys” in French. The Japanese fashion label is known for avant-garde, deconstructed designs, and gender-bending styles. CDG is now based in Tokyo, Japan, and Paris, France. Their sub-labels include COMME des GARÇONS PLAY (with the iconic heart logo), HOMME, and PARFUM.

Named after the coldest and most challenging side of a mountain, Douglas and Susie Tompkins founded The North Face (TNF). This outdoor recreation company began in 1966 in San Francisco, CA. Initially focused on high-quality climbing and camping gear, The North Face grew into a leading outdoor clothing, footwear, and equipment brand.

With the new TNF x CDG 2024 collection, customers can tackle the concrete jungle and the wilderness. Hallmarks of the line include muted black and green tones and outdoor, vintage silhouettes. A military collarless jacket, padded and pocketed, stands out as a key piece. Other pieces include The North Dome Wind Jacket, Belay Liner Jacket, North Dome Pullover Fleece, Icon Short Sleeves and Long Sleeves T-Shirt, and Packable Ripstop Bucket Hat. Slogans like “My energy comes from freedom and a rebellious spirit” and “Wear your freedom,” evoke a sense of individuality, defiance, and adventure.
